Ep 129 The Power of Our Words

The Power of Your Words: Speaking Life Over Yourself
How often do we stop to think about the words we say to ourselves?
Most of us are intentional about speaking kindness to others. We remind our friends that they are loved, encourage our family members when they feel discouraged, and extend grace when mistakes happen. But when it comes to ourselves? The words we whisper in our minds can often be filled with criticism, doubt, and impossibly high expectations.
For our Season 6 finale of Purpose Beyond Motherhood, we’re diving into a conversation that affects every single one of us—the power of our words. Because what we tell ourselves daily shapes how we see our worth, how we walk in faith, and how we embrace the life God has for us.
What Are You Repeating to Yourself?
We don’t always realize it, but the words we say internally become the foundation of what we believe. If we tell ourselves, I’m not enough, I’ll never measure up, or I don’t deserve good things—those thoughts start to feel like truth. But they aren’t.
God’s Word tells a different story.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)
You are chosen. (1 Peter 2:9)
You are deeply loved. (Romans 8:38-39)
You are enough, right now, exactly as you are.
What if we started filling our minds with His truth instead of the lies we’ve believed for too long?
The Challenge: Speak to Yourself with Kindness
Think about the way you encourage your best friend when she’s struggling. You don’t tear her down. You don’t remind her of every mistake she’s ever made. Instead, you remind her of her strength, her worth, and how much she’s loved.
Now, what if you spoke to yourself the same way?
This week, we challenge you to:
Recognize the negative words you’ve been speaking over yourself.
Replace them with truth from God’s Word.
Repeat those truths until they become second nature.
When we align our words with God’s voice, everything shifts. We stop carrying the weight of self-doubt and start walking in the confidence of who we were created to be.
A Final Encouragement
If you’ve been feeling weary, unsure, or stuck in cycles of negative self-talk, we want you to know this: God sees you. You are His beloved. He delights in you, and He is inviting you to see yourself through His eyes.
Let’s step into this together.
